Is this a common issue? We're buying a house and are still keen to progress with the sale. The last we heard from the agent was when they called on Thursday to tell me the surveyor is meant to be viewing the house on Tuesday so this has come as a bit of a shock to me.

I can't call them as they're closed on Sundays and I've only just seen the status changed when I went on their website this morning.

Sometimes this happens by mistake. It happened to me when I was looking for a property. A house I liked but was sstc suddenly seemed to come back on the market again, but it was just a mistake.

Sometimes systems glitch or someone ticks the wrong box by mistake. If you are demonstrating that you are serious buyers who will do things in a timely fashion, I would try not to worry too much just yet. Give them a call tomorrow morning and mention that you were surprised to see this, chances are that you'll get a profuse apology from a red-faced EA!

we sold in January .Right up until completion it was advertised for sale ,including the for sale sign in the garden.

The neighbours didn't know it was sold until 7am on completion day.

Well we've got the surveyor visiting on Tuesday. We've had an offer in principle and our solicitor is supposedly in receipt of the seller's contract according to our last update from them. NatWest have dragged their heels around the mortgage due to a back log of applications. I just hope the seller isn't getting cold feet.

    Thanks for the replies.

So having spoken to the estate agent it seems the sellers told them to relist it as for sale due to slow progress on the sale. It's hardly my fault the mortgage company is facing a back log. Anyway, a survey is meant to be done this week so the sellers have now changed the status back. Also, I have a contract pack from my solicitor waiting for me, whatever that entails I am not sure.

Thanks to all those who replied.
