How to write a letter requesting insurer details

Options
Hi all

I had some concrete delivered recenlty, and the worker who was delivering it damaged my drive

They dropped the concrete directly on to my drive from quite a height causing quite a large hole on my drive. It was not lowered correctly.

Once we had moved the concrete and noticed the extant of the hole on my drive we called the company who sold us the concrete and explained the situation, they basically told me to fix it myself + to !!!!!! off

So I think the next best step is for me to write a letter to this company asking for details of their insurer?

My neighbor saw exactly what happened and is willing to sign a witness statement, so if i forward this statement + the pictures of the hole to the insurer's company along with a quote for fixing the drive then hopefully they will send me a cheque?

But how would i go about writing this letter?

all help is appreciated

Were they negligent or was your drive failing before the delivery?

My drive has taken skip and grab wagons with no problems. You don't mention the construction and top surface of your drive. Badly laid slabs a the person taking the delivery saying drop it here mate is going to leave you problems.

Forget about their insurer just simply send a LBA outlining exactly what they've done and what you expect them to do to rectify the issue. If they still refuse to play ball be prepared to take a small claims action against them.

You have no right to their Insurers details. Their Insurer will only appear scene if they seek indemnity under their Policy. LBA advice is correct.

You asked for concrete to be delivered to your drive, it's what you got, proving negligence here wont be easy.

It'd help to know where you wanted it dropped (if not on the drive) and what the drive is made of?
You'd have to complain to the company, not their insurers.

Wh atever the drives made off you don't expect goods to be dropped from height.

was it one of those lorries with the grabbers link Jackson's use? If so why not search for the vehicles insurance company and contact them?

The liability Insurers are unlikely to be the same Insurer as the vehicle Insurer
