Solar: how much you paid (£) how much you have generated (kWh) and date of install.

Now to convert this to non-subsided costs, there has to be a lot of assumptions. Obviously there will be large differences of opinion on maintenance/replacement costs, particularly the inverter, so I've included these input variables in red so you can change them to your hearts content.
Quick re-cap.
Cepheus:-
overpriced the system,
undersized the system,
doubled the degradation rate,
added fictitious cleaning and insurance costs,
added £2,500 in replacement inverter costs just to cover the first 25 years,
all so he could compare it unfavourably against large scale on-shore wind.
Why do I bring this up again, you may well ask, well ....... because not happy with being caught out trying to get away with this atrocious steaming pile of misleading garbage, he's now going around MSE slagging off everyone who disagreed with him:They might know more on the Solar power subsidy board, sorry Ethical and Green Moneysaving forum. I've had a go about Chinese inverters before, suggesting they might last less than the assumed lifetime, and received a lot of abuse.

They don't like to talk about negative reviews too much either. After all, solar power is great, especially in the Sunny UK and in tiny penny packets on people roofs rather than using economies of scale. You can see their point of view.
Part of me hopes the FiT gets cut to 5.5p or less, making domestic PV cheaper than on-shore wind and PV farms ...... just part of me.

Hi All,
So we have just had our 4th anniversary of our solar panels being installed and I thought I would post our totals so far.
We paid £11000 back then for our system and we added the Immersun to it the following year. This was driven by us having oil fired central heating as there is no mains gas here and we found that we were having to fire the boiler up to get hot water in the summer.
16370 kWh total as per FIT meter
£7320 total revenue- working out from last quarterly payment and adding generation to anniversary date.
Not bad at all me thinks ....
Cheers
