Buying property in croydon?

Hello...
I'm a uni student and my mum wants to move out of streatham.
She thinks it would be a good idea to move to croydon, south croydon to be exact. I think such a move would be a downgrade.
Thoughts?
I just want my mum to settle down in an ok/nice area. Her budget is 325k and she is not looking to leave london.

South Croydon was nicer than Streatham when I lived in the area. I lived in both. I know where I felt safer!
The further out you go from there, the nicer it gets, IMO.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Agreed
I moved from Streatham to Purley and it was definitely a move upwards.
Not sure why if you are a uni student why you are trying to stop your Mum from bettering her environment as you presumably don't live with her anyway (or maybe you do and don't fancy a longer commute to Uni) Actually I'm not sure why you felt it even relevant to mention you are at Uni at all LOL
South Croydon/Purley/Sanderstead/Coulsdon are all nicer areas than Streatham - Now if she was wanting to move to Croydon itself I might just agree with you !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I guess you have a lot of mature users on the site, and I didn't want to come across as an 20 year old male who still lives with his mum.

South Croydon is much nicer than streatham
and in some parts very nice big expensive houses.
Other areas of Croydon may be a downgrade, but not SouthMisc debts - £5,000 | Student loan - £9,000 | Mortgage - £180,000
