Hello...

I'm a uni student and my mum wants to move out of streatham.
She thinks it would be a good idea to move to croydon, south croydon to be exact. I think such a move would be a downgrade.

Thoughts?

I just want my mum to settle down in an ok/nice area. Her budget is 325k and she is not looking to leave london.

South Croydon was nicer than Streatham when I lived in the area. I lived in both. I know where I felt safer!

The further out you go from there, the nicer it gets, IMO.

    Agreed
I moved from Streatham to Purley and it was definitely a move upwards.

Not sure why if you are a uni student why you are trying to stop your Mum from bettering her environment as you presumably don't live with her anyway (or maybe you do and don't fancy a longer commute to Uni ;) ) Actually I'm not sure why you felt it even relevant to mention you are at Uni at all LOL

South Croydon/Purley/Sanderstead/Coulsdon are all nicer areas than Streatham - Now if she was wanting to move to Croydon itself I might just agree with you !

I guess you have a lot of mature users on the site, and I didn't want to come across as an 20 year old male who still lives with his mum.

South Croydon is much nicer than streatham :) and in some parts very nice big expensive houses.

Other areas of Croydon may be a downgrade, but not South
