If my teen gets a summer job - do tax credits stop?

Hi.
My 18yr old is just finishing school and the tax credits i receive for him will stop at the end of august.

If he gets a summer job between july and august- will this cease the tax credits i receive for him?

I'm in same situation, dd going to uni in September. When i rang helpline they said it stops once they work 24 hrs.

If they are going on to uni -yes-however if they are staying in education on a course below degree level- possibly not.

Yes he is going to uni, thats why his tax credits stop in August.

But if he gets a summer job in July/August before uni, do the tax credits stop earlier as he will now have his own income.

Reading the leaflet i presume they do, i will ring on 2nd july which is her last exam to find out for sure. Shes been working on a saturday for a care agency but come july she will work as much as possible.
