Just in desperation really as I'm about to throw myself out the window.
My printer refuses suddenly to print any black text, its a long old saga and yes I've replaced both black and colour ink , I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, I cleaned the printer head and anything I can think of but it still refuses to print black text , it prints anything in colour but no black. I really need to print out some boarding passes but I can't. It isn't old I've had it about 2yrs and no problems up till now.
Before my OH drags me to PC World to buy a new printer does anyone have any ideas? I'm just to frustrated.

1. If you are going to throw anything out of the window make sure its the printer.
2. Just check you have removed the seal on the black ink cart.0 -
Replace the printer head. On Kodak printers the printer head is separate from the ink cartridge, that's one of the reasons the cartridges are cheaper than other providers.
If it's under warranty Kodak might send you one for free (this was 5 years ago)Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Kodak dont make printers any more as I found out a few months ago trying to get mine fixed. I had the same problem with mine a few months ago as it would only print light colours. I had just bought new ink so had £30 worth of new ink too. I gave in and bought a new printer. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Its not under warranty and I already realised that Kodak was no more... I could take it in to PC World they said they would take a look but OH wants to just buy a new one.. I'm going to have one go at changing the settings to print in dark blue then I'll give up, thanks for the suggestions..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

PCW won't be able to mend an inkjet for you (or indeed anything else you take to them), it's worth next to nothing. Run a deep cleaning cycle as a final attempt. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
