How long for Experian to give you access?

How long did it take other people to get access to their credit report?
I used checkmyfile for Callcredit and Equifax. I got access immediately.
I applied for Experian Credit Expert at the same time. After registering it said I would be contacted by email within 2 working days. I received nothing for 5 days and then I got an email asking me for a photocopy of my passport, a bank statement and a utility bill. I sent them first class on the same day. Another 4 days later and still no response of any kind. I phoned them up and the person I spoke to said it can take up to 90 days for them to prove my identity and there's nothing more I can do.
Is this normal?

We may require further ID verification for you to access full service which could take up to 5 days, as you've mentioned this has been longer than 5 days could you please email me your details (name/dob/address) I'll gladly chase for an update for you as this process should not take 90 days.
