Bad neighbour rant!

We are currently renting a 5 bed detached house and hopefully buying a house with a completion the end of June.

The neighbours to one side are Hideous! When we moved in they started saying how awful our landlords are and how they thought they went bankrupt and that was why they had to move.

I quickly corrected them and told them they moved to an even bigger house and we were renting from them.

They proceeded to tell me that, "those people in that house we don't speak to....that house is full of paki's (yes they are actually that blantly racist!)...and on and on. I just smiled said, "nice to meet you," and have kept a wide birth the past 10 months.

Today we were gardening and cutting down all the over grown vines on his fence side, and he come out shaking and shouting at me saying, "hey you are not allowed to cut on my side, that is my vine and my fence, you can't cut my side!! I said, "oh sorry, I didn't realise I was, I'll keep that in mind...."

What horrible people! The vine is totally 3 feet taller than the top of the 6 foot fence and he refuses to cut it.

Please let our completion go through ASAP!!!!! This rental was for sale and for rent when we rented it, we didn't buy until we knew if my daughter got into the senior school we were going for.

We asked the landlord if they wanted to sell but they want to keep as a cash cow. I hope the next people are hideous and have lots of loud parties and poison their vines. GGGGRRRRR.

On check out will they try to say the garden is over grown and deduct from our deposit?

I'm not surprised. If it's on his side then you're not allowed to cut it as it's his property!

Still, now he'll probably add you to his list of neighbours he doesn't like.

No, I was cutting my side but at the top of the fence so to speak. When I said his fence side I meant he owns the fence on the boundary line. I was in my garden!

Just be glad that you're moving and won't have to deal with this a-hole ever again. With luck you won't find yourself living next door to anyone similar, or worse. And there are worse. Much, much worse, believe me

    Just what I was thinking...

Try: attempting to nick a bit of your garden/vandalising property in your garden/generally making it plain they'd like you to "go back where you came from" (and nope it aint racism... unless you count nationalism as racism...as I'm English...)/trying to tell you how to run your own home/etc.

You definitely could have a lot worse...
