Home Insurance - Is no claims discount lost if you break chain when selling?

I've recently sold my house and am temporarily living with relatives until the house purchase goes through. I cancelled my home insurance, does this mean I'll have lost the no claims discount I'd built up (5+ years)?
The gap between selling and buying will be around 4 weeks.

Some insurers ask how long you have been continuously insured without claiming.
Others simply ask about claims in the last x years.
You need to check the question being asked (and avoid buying from any that uses the "continuous years" question.)0 -
Ok, thanks. Every one I've come across has asked about continuous years, though some have also asked about how many claims were made.0
