Our mortgage broker has quoted us for life cover (it's pretty expensive) but recommends it. It's for the life of the mortgage.

Basic life assurance shouldn't be expensive - what have you been quoted and how old are you?0

smoker or non smoker ,do you have existing health issues"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

Term insurance isn't expensive, unless you're a hellava risk through dodgy health, or you're decrepit, like me.
I kept mine on after the mortgage, even after the private health stuff and magazine subs etc all went to the wall.
Seemed relatively good value....though I wouldn't get to enjoy it much!0 -
£70 for both of us, 30s, no health problems, 1 doesn't drink, non-smokers. It included critical illness.£2 Savers club £0/£150

That seems pretty good,we were quoted £150 per month for life assurance and critical illness cover for a mortgage amount of £337,750. Non smokers both aged 35. This was legal and general.0

Our MA quoted us approx £80, £40 of it was critical illness, term assurance was £18 and there was a monthly income included and something else.
We went on the comparison sites and got a term insurance with a larger critical insurance amount and double the insurance cover for £30 from a reputable company.
The one we were quoted for was a decreasing term (not ideal if you have no other insurance cover). This will only cover the balance of the mortgage.0 -
As it's only me, I have not got it, understand if couple/family.0
