Errecting Fence on Block Paving

Hi,
I am planning to erect a fence across an area of block paving, at present we have a fence from the road upto the front of our house and a fence from the back of our house to the rear boundary, however, the bit in between the two houses is unfenced and is block paved at present.
I need to install 4 posts to complete the fence and I am considering using the bolt down post anchors for two reasons, firstly it will be easier and secondly there is a gas pipe which runs very close if not along the boundary, I exposed it when I put the front fence up a few years ago and had to shorten some of the posts to suit.
The fence will be a post and rail type and will be about 8m long. It won't therefore have much if any windage as the gap between the houses is only around 3m and it leads to a 6foot gate on both sides of the boundary.
I appreciate that it would be better to dig up the block paving but would like to know if anyone else has tried this and if so how they got on with it.
Thanks for your help with this.

I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling

There is no way that the block paving will be secure enough to support a fence :eek:0

As said block paving is not suitable to hold mounts to hold a fence. You need to remove some of the blocks and dig a hole suitable depth for height of post then pour water and apply postcrete, under normal circumstance that is. As you have a gas pipe near by then you will have to proceed to great caution or give up on the idea.0

Get a post anchor and bolt it down. Then you will be able to lift the block out quite easily.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
