If she can obtain written confirmation she held insurance in her own name and the period (From date to date) she was claim free which is written in English and on the Insurers headed paper there are a few Insurers who will allow this as a no claims discount in the UK0

When we returned after living in South Africa for many years, I just gave proof of ownership and no claims and was able to get insurance pretty standard price (this was some 15 or so years back) via the Co-Op and Tesco for our 2 cars. Our licences were also just a straight swop for UK licences.0
