I did the FD switch and left them when I switched for another bonus offer. I phoned up, said I wasn't happy, and I received a cheque for the £100 as advertised.
The process of paying money in isn't a hassle if you use another account as your main one. Simply setup a standing order online from your main account to the switched one. Then set up a standing order from the switch account for the main one back again. I do that for the day after. Just remember to cancel when you switch the switch account, if you get where I'm coming from. You can use the same technique for transferring money in and out of other bank accounts requiring monthly payments which pay good interest rates, Club Lloyds, Halifax and TSB spring to mind.
The rule is you have to pay the money in, nothing to say you can't transfer it straight back again. Trust me, it works and I have this arrangement on 5 current accounts at present.

I have just switched out of FD after 9 months. I did have my monthly salary paid in for 9 months (over £1000). I phoned them up to tell them I was switching to another provider under their service guarantee and was told that I qualified for the £100 bonus for switching out. However, it's been over a week since I switched to another provider and there is no sign of £100. Does anyone know how long it takes for the £100 to come through. When should I phone them up?
    Thanks
