The problem was that it was a brand of leg wax that you weren't supposed to microwave, but i went ahead and microwaved it anyway - and turned it into the stickiest concoction known to man - I've been hanging shelves with it in my new place (only joking)....
Thanks for all the suggestions, in the end i was too cowardly to start applying irons to the laminate floor - thought i might make it worse - so we used a hairdryer, which melted it enough to be able to mop it up. No sign of it was left and I got my full deposit back. Phew!Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
