Lump Sum Investing

Hi,
I'm being made redundant shortly so will be getting a lump sum of around 25-30K. Rather than just letting it sit in the bank i'd like to do something with it. I'd probably max out my ISA allowance first then i'm not sure what else?
I would want at least a portion of it to be accessible. What low-medium risk investments would you recommend?
Thanks

How old are you? What pension arrangements do you have?
Are you already investing in stock market based investments?
Have you considered high interest current accounts for the money you wish to be accessible?0 -

I hold it with Halifax Share Dealing ISA - the platform fee is £12.50 per year which works out better than the commission based brokers for a lump sum.

Whether you want to put the whole amount with the VLS is up to you but certainly worth considering for the bulk imo.0
