Driving on a bus lane to avoid a driver harassing me

Hi,
I was forced to go on a bus lane because a driving was harassing me, trying to swerve into me, breaking in front of me. Then we got to a bus lane and he would not let me out, so i had to be very careful not to change lanes near him as he was trying to swerve into me.
He even cut me off and put on the breaks to try and get me to hit him from the back.
So I was forced to drive on the bus lane because there was a driver trying to harass me, trying to cause an accident. I was trying to avoid that and also was very stressed, paying attention I don't get into an accident.
I have it on video because I have a dash camera.
Is this enough for me to wave the fine?
Thanks
Xiao

I would be making a report to the police and getting it looked at , or at minimum a log number0

I wouldn't imagine so. But there is nothing to stop you trying to reclaim any penalties from the driver of the other vehicle, such footage should be handed into the police.
I personally would have invited his swerve to hit my car, where even whiplash would miraculously appear along with the damages to my car.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

On the surface an option except for the fact that there are over 1.5 million uninsured drivers on the road and any one who was willing to bash his into yours just might fall into that category.0 -

I dont really want to make a big deal of it, I just ignore stupid drivers like that.
What do you mean at a min a log number?I wouldn't imagine so. But there is nothing to stop you trying to reclaim any penalties from the driver of the other vehicle, such footage should be handed into the police.

That sucks.
How would I reclaim penalties?
As for inviting the swerves etc, I just dont have time to deal with it. I work 2 jobs and a family, plus to add any more stress like that to deal with accidents, insurance police is too much hassle for me. I would just avoid it.
As for reporting it to the police, would that help my case?
and is this the place to report on Roadsafe London - Metropolitan Police Service
(cant add links as I am a new member)
I am in London by the way.
Thanks

In view of your latest post, what is the benefit of your dash cam if you are not going to use it? Just curious.0

well in this case use it how?
If I can appeal my bus lane ticket on that ground then i would send the video from the dash cam.
If it would mean to send it to the police I will.
Which is the main reason i bought it, to use the footage when i get into an accident, and i guess for a scenario like this.0 -
You were not forced in to the bus lane - you could have just stopped, but you chose to enter the bus lane instead.0

I would do both, but the police first so that you can get a crime incident number to include with your appeal. Hopefully the poiice will pursue it having visible evidence. Easy for them to get a conviction if the video supports your story and you have the Reg No of the other car.0 -
How can someone infront of you swerve into you?
You could have just stopped or carried on driving to the conditions of the road.0 -
When you approached the bus lane what prevented you from stopping and letting the other driver carry on?
He prevented you from moving over and changing lanes, Just a guess but he may have thought you were pushing in instead of waiting in the line of traffic.
But the main point is why not stop instead of entering the lane?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
