Hi,
Ok, bit skant on the information side of things, but in general, nearly all companies that operate in the UK, will have a set complaints procedure.
Go to there website and look for it, then follow the instructions.
Always best to write a letter, mark the envelop "complaint", send to the address given.
Have you already complained to Marstons about this issue ?
I suspect the ombudsman may of been unable to help because you have yet to exhaust the companies own complaints procedure.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. They charged my son £75 fees. I paid it on in dec. But I put a diget wrong and it did go against his name.... the bailiffs came round and charged me £310 for the pleasure,
Even when I informed them I paid it all with in time...
The ombudsman cant handle this case..
im now waiting on a letter. To see if they have refunded the money..
I can understand it if I hadn't paid it but I did and on time
not holding my breath.0 -
complain to the council head of taxationDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Hi
What type of debt are they collecting?
In any case, fatbelly and sourcrates have already covered most of the main options for complaints.

The cieva.... dont think they will deal with this because they are high court enforcers..... he got a fine. Missed 2 payments. Courts. Sent in marston groups..... we paid the fine and costs. But because I put a wrong diget in . It didnt come up against his name. So thats when they came knocking on my door for£310...... since then they have found the money... so now I dont no who to complain to to get my money back0

If this is a fine they are most likely collecting on behalf of a magistrates court rather than high court. I think Marston’s letter heading says that they’re High Court Enforcement Officers regardless of the type of debt they’re collecting. Also the HCEO fee scale is different to other types of enforcement and wouldn’t match up with the £310 fees mentioned.
You should still be able to complain to Marstons directly using their complaints process, CIVEA, and also the Clerk of the Court at the magistrates court if it is a magistrates court fine.
