Dye run on new item of clothing - rights?

I recently (within the last 3 weeks) bought a (quite expensive) hoodie and have just washed it for the first time (following the instructions on the care label). The dye has run and the once white hoodie strings are now blue tinted. Does anyone know where I stand with regards to a refund or replacement? After reading the consumer rights section of this website, I am not entirely clear. Thanks in advance!

How do you know and what relevance doe this have ?0 -
Take it back as faulty, the retailer has the choice if to repair, replace or refund as long as they accept its faulty rather than miss use but the onus is on them to prove it isnt faulty than for you to prove it is.0

OP, where did you buy it from and did the retailer mention anything about potential issue about the dye fading or running. I know Fat Face for example make special mention of their indigo dyed range of clothes and that you have to be careful during the initial washes for dye transfer and running.0

Were the strings removable? Colour run from a new article of clothing when washed for first time is not unusual. How does the fact that the strings are now tinted a shade of blue make them unusable - surely it's just a cosmetic issue?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

But hey... it's only cosmetic... the car still functions as a car.0 -
I'd be rather disappointed if, when washing my new red car, the black bumpers changed to a pinky colour.

Cars are painted, clothes are dyed - there is a difference....."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
