I have 2 defaults showing on my credit files courtesy of santander.
First is for an unsecured personal loan, dated 14/07/2009.
Second is for a current account 14/04/2010
However I was made bankrupt 15/04/2009 and the above accounts were listed in my bankruptcy. I wrote to santander and they have agreed to mark the 2 defaults as SATISFIED.
To quote santander they have written back saying "the information regarding the defaults will continue to show on your credit reference file for six years from the date of default.
Correct me if I'm wrong, shouldn't the default dates be no later than the date of my bankruptcy (15/04/2009).
If I'm correct should they be removed completely because my bankruptcy has fallen off my files now? What is the next step i should take for them to remove the defaults completely, not just marking them as satisfied.

I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

Yes the defaults should be no later than your BR date.
Depending on what the previous letter you sent contained I would write again along the lines in this thread - Credit Reference File Clean Up Post BankruptcyA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Yes you are correct, sadly they need educating, the defaults should match the BR and so should no longer display.0
