Stand up and be counted
Stand up and be counted for your club
The Football League has launched a campaign to engage the global fan base of its 72 clubs, with the opportunity for overseas fans to win a trip to see their club play.
Called ‘Stand Up & Be Counted’, the campaign asks fans to register their country and city of residence via a dedicated microsite at representyourclub.com, so whether you are a supporter of Accrington Stanley in Argentina or York City in Yemen you can show your support of your club.
The site includes an overall leader board so fans can see where their club’s global fan base ranks compared to the other 71 Football League clubs, as well as a map displaying where in the world fans are from.
By registering their support for a club, fans have the chance to enter a prize draw to win a trip for two to the United Kingdom, including flights, accommodation and match tickets to see their team play.
Football League matches and highlights are broadcast in up to 183 territories around the world every week throughout the season, but this campaign marks the first time the League has run a dedicated campaign to engage overseas fans.
Commenting on the campaign, Shaun Harvey, Chief Executive of The Football League said: “Our 72 Football League clubs are at the very heart of their communities, but there are also passionate fans all around the world who follow their team each week through our international television coverage and online.
“This campaign is a first step towards our desire of directly engaging with that global fan base and bringing them closer to the clubs they support throughout next season and beyond”.
The Football League has worked with digital agency 383 on the development of the campaign.
