How to fix MSE timing out?

MSE has started 'timing out' on the thread that I follow. (Original format.)

I read a short post, and click Thanks... up comes the 'timed out' message.

I write a post, click Submit, the same message comes up.

Other posters have noticed this problem recently, too.

It doesn't happen on other websites.

Same here (using Firefox; don't know if its a browser issue). Read and type quicker ;-)
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Yeah, it happens when posting. Just hit the back button and try again.

I keep getting it happening, only since about Monday though (so not a change in FF AFAIK).

If you press F5 without pressing back it should resend the information, if you press back you usually (always?) have to rewrite the post which is a pain if it's a longish one.

I think for the time being if I'm doing longer posts I may resort to my 00's method, and write them up in Open Office or Notepad so I can cut and paste it again if it times out.

Not in Firefox you don't ;) , doing a refresh is actually more likely to lose the post.
