Hi
I need to send around £10k to a relative in Australia, normally when I am over there I take a Halifax clarity card and get a really good rate with no fees, I now need to transfer money to an individual, so cannot use the Clarity card. Has anyone any experience or can recommend a firm to send the money with a good exchange rate and low fees ? Thanks

Have a look at https://www.transferwise.com
I use these guys all the time to send money to Spain. It will show you the rate before you have to send.0 -

These will both figure, amongst others, on the comparison site I posted a link to. Different companies can offer different deals on different days, so it is always worth shopping around.0 -

Thanks, looks a good transfer, just wondering how long it takes, it talks about matching buyers/sellers and likewise have you found the rate changes from the first rate quoted and the rate when the transfer was completed ? Thanks, and thanks to all who replied0 -
The official answer: https://transferwise.com/support/customer/portal/articles/1654253-how-long-does-it-take-
I have had Eurozone transfers completed within 4 hours.
The rate first quoted is the worst case rate at which your transfer will be processed. If the buffer they have built in would require a higher rate, they'd ask you what to do. See their online Help for details, e.g. https://transferwise.com/support/customer/portal/articles/1716108-what-s-a-rate-protection-deposit-?b_id=87900
