e-Dreams deals not as good as advertised

Options
e-Dreams offers a £4.99 flight from London to Strasbourg. The price only works if you sign up to a virtual Visa card. I have booked the flight three times(on their advise), They have taken our money three times and three times over two days they have failed to issue the tickets. A week of ringing and writing has produced nothing but the advise to try again as there is a problem with the link between their software and the virtual card. We are out of pocket. They have not responded to requests for our money back and we still do not have any tickets for our flight. Not in any way a service from what is supposed to be a reputable company.

I think if you look for eDreams reviews you will find that "reputable" is a word that would be rarely connected with them
Assuming this was a Ryanair flight - what was the fare difference to booking direct with Ryanair? (I assume you now believe the "saving" was not worth the hassle)

Not really the case here as the thread is almost 2 years old and the OP hasn't logged in since the day they posted on this thread.

Though my good lady and I have never been disadvantaged by the enterprise 'eDreams' (that may, perchance, have been a slip of the authorial quill?) we, too, are struggling to secure a refund of monies paid in good faith to a transportation company of not inconsiderable repute.

Less than a week before embarking on our voyage to the United States of America, we received the dismaying intelligence that the company's vessels may be prone to navigation failures of a most disquieting nature. Naturally, I cancelled our booking with immediate effect, yet these several months later am still unable to obtain the financial satisfaction that is justifiably my due.

How gratifying it is then to encounter correspondence such as that published in this column -- to which, I trust, I may be permitted to add the cautionary advice that unless one wishes to hazard 22 guineas without prospect of refund, then it would be foolish indeed to ever consider The White Star Line as a dependable conveyor of persons to any destination near or far.

Why? How does it affect you?
