Hi, can anybody point me in the direction of a Windows 7 driver for an old Canon scanner - a Lide 30.
Thanks if you can help.

Try the w7 driver (assuming 64 bit) for the lide 25:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/canoscan_lide25?selectedName=DriversAndSoftware
if that doesn't work then try this:

This only Windows 2000 (32-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit), Windows XP (32-bit)
Canon do not supply a w7 + driver for that scannerScience isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

Thank you - the scanner has been offered to me as a freebie so thought I'd search for a driver before collecting it, so it does look quite promising that it could work. Will let you know how I get on.0 -
You can get it to work using Vuescan software from hamrick.com (you can - and should - try it for free before you buy). It will cost you £20-odd to buy the full version though, which makes your freebie look less attractive.0

Thank you - I did come across that in my search but, as you say, makes my freebie look less sttractive. If I can't get it to work using one of the above suggestions I'll probably put the £20 towards a nice new up-to-date shiny scanner:)0 -
I had the same problem a couple of years ago and found I could use the vista drivers. They worked perfectly.0

Thank you *j* - another option, so one of them's bound to work.0

thanks, from first link I found a driver for my Lide 500F0 -
No luck with the two scanners I've been offered on Freecycle, so I've decided to bite the bullet and actually buy one. Considering either the Canoscan 120 or the 220.
Thanks for advice though, and I'm pleased to see that it helped someone else.0
