Signed up for c0able contract and only now found out I was conned

Conned in 2 ways, I was told it cost less to get internet, phone and tv than just internet or internet or phone on its own so I signed up after talking the rep into giving me free anytime calls(or so I thought) but the rep put down my email address wrong so I never noticed for 3 months.

I never used the tv as I have Sky and my tv only has component inputs and scart and the box doesnt have component.

To be honest though I did complain before and heard nothing but got a "offer" leaflet through the post 3 weeks after complaint telling me they wanted to speak to me about getting a better package but I have been swamped.

I only did something now as my mobile was faulty I needed to use landline and I have worked up £50 in calls to landlines(and thats only for a few hours) and when i rang I was told all they can do as a goodwill gesture is give me anytime calls for a additional £5 a month and at the time I mentioned how I was given the wrong information at time of purchase and therefore paying more than I should and she said the people that deal with the tv side of it are closed for the evening.

I would guess they can claim I have no rights as I signed a contract saying X amount but do I have any comeback?

Did you ever receive any confirmation of what it was that you signed up for?

Assuming it was all done over the phone, then you never signed for anything. But verbal contracts are legal and binding. The service provider should have recorded the sales call. If you think you were offered free calls as part of the deal, you should insist that they review the recording of the call.

Most importantly, whatever you agreed with their sales person forms the contract. It's not good enough for them to later claim that the package offered doesn't match what they thought they had sold you.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

It was written contract however the space for writing what was included was small and the persons handwriting was scruffy so it was hard to tell.

I never would of agreed to pay £55 a month for just internet and basic landline with no calls when I was paying £29 for 80 meg broadband inc unlimited calls just like I didnt want tv and I was lied to about it costing less with tv when in fact its more.

In that case you're going to struggle to prove that what the rep offered is what you think they offered. You will get what it says on the written contract.

Never accept what a sales rep tells you at face value - always read the written contract.

But even then he wrote things as a scribble which is hard to read so its not even clear looking at contract what I signed up for.

Hard to read or easy to read... it makes no difference.

Only if it is impossible to read does his handwriting become an issue.
