I need to buy a USB card for my PC as I'm running out of USB ports.
I've seen them advertised for £5 on ebuyer, but will these be reliable and easy to fit?

Easy enough to fit, just slot it into the slot on the motherboard, the computer should detect everything automatically.
Alternatively, why don't you go for an external USB hub? I bought a 7 port powered one from eBay for £6 (including shipping) and a four port mini one for £4 (including shipping) not long ago and they work fine.
I say this as you might want the PCI slot later for something else (expansion card, graphics (assuming you don't already have a dedicated one), sound upgrade, TV Card).
