Thanks so much for all the advice kind people on MSE.
I WON'T ever be doing anything like this again. As you can see, I am not savvy at all, and I had no idea about the charge being necessary. In fact, I've only realised what it is this week. Silly stupid me.
I will follow the advice you have given me. To be honest, if I get the £30K, I will be very happy. I'm not overly bothered about the 6 months payment just as long as I get the investment amount back.
I am booked in to see the solicitor next week, so hopefully I will get some positive news and will start the legal process straight away.
Once again, thank you to all of you for the sound advice you have given me. I appreciate it wholeheartedly.0
