Personal Trainer / Gym Refund Advice

My partner pre-paid for some PT sessions with a personal trainer at our gym, the invoice was headed with the gyms logo etc but the bank details related to the individual trainer.
Fast forward and the trainer has left the gym with the bulk of the pre-paid sessions not delivered.
As the contract was concluded on the gym's premises and they had granted the PT a licence to be there and use their branding do we stand any chance of success in recovering the outstanding money from the gym (i would expect them to deal with the trainer as they see fit).
There is no S75 or chargeback as it was bank transfer so I'm interested in whether pursuing the gym legally would get the refund result we need as the invoice gives only their address and we have no way of tracing the individual trainer,

Was the PT an employee of the gym or did they have a contract with the gym to use their facilities and/or take certain classes? Was your partner's contract with the PT or the gym?If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

It now transpires that despite the branding, the uniforms and the invoices being branded as the gym the PT's are self employed and pay rent to the gym. This is really why we need to establish if the gym are in any way linked to the contract as everything was branded as them and on their premises etc so we reasonably thought they were providing the sessions.0

It would appear that your partner's contract is with the PT and the gym aren't involved other than providing premises also in a contract with the PT.
This arrangement where gyms use self employed PTs is quite common. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
