We use the butcher. Ask them to call you if they have anything at the end of the day that needs to go that day, we get it half price. So, they do 5 kilos of chicken breast for £25 (a great deal anyway) which are barn standard, free range is £38 for 5 kilos but we get it for £16.50 and freeze them in 2s straight away.

Make friends with your butcher and be prepared to drop everything and run for cheap chicken! It only happens once a month or so but it is about 30-35 breasts so lasts us the month anyway.

Our local bookers are selling 2 x packs of approx 30 boned chicken thighs for £18 - this lasts us all month.

For whole chicken, it's either Aldi or local butcher
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
