Can not get email Help

I am use to get email through gioserve inbox (outlook express) without problem nearly since 2 years. but now last 4-5 days I can only get first five messages then go stuck. At sixth message I am getting nothing. I can only read getting sixth message out of 77. But could not get anymore. I have AVG which scan sixth message but cannot deload. I do not know what to do to get my email. It is now 4-5 days. I do not know whom to contact as I am not subscribe to gioserve. Please help me. thanks.

    Are you on dial-up or broadband? It sounds like someone has sent you a whopping attachment that is blocking the download.

    Do you have webmail so you can view the emails online? If so, have a look via webmail. Look for a message with a large attachment and, if you don't need the attachment, delete the whole message. If you do need the attachment, you should be able to right click on it then "Save target as .." and choose a place on your hard drive to save it.

    Be careful! It could be a nasty email with a virus/trojan hidden in the attachment. Only open an attachment if it is from someone you know AND you know why they sent the attachment to you.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

    Thanks. I am on broad band NTL but my email is Gioserve as I have old account with them so I am not usins NTL for email address but Gioserve & Outlook Express Inbox for Incoming email. How can I delete the email before it can come Inbox. As you said it looks like attachment blocking all the messages. Please help me how to delete this 6th message. Thanks.

    No Gioserve has no web option. Also I am not getting any message at all. But getting this error "
    The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop.gioserve.com', Server: 'pop3.gioserve.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90. Please help me. No email last 5-6 days. Very frustrating. Some email very important. Thanks.
  • Looks like your AV might be the problem. Switch off AVG anti-virus, and then try.

    Theres alot of confusion about Gio, some people are saying only the dial-up has ended but BB is ok still. Others say Gio has gone forever.....

    I never thought of it being the AV. I've had loads of probs withe NTL Email, whether using Firefox or NTL's own, with people's mail being bounced back. NTL have checked my connection and said its ok. I found that if I fill in anything with a link, i.e a hotel booking, I get no reply. If I physically type the link in it works, and loads of people have said their E mails bounced back. I'll check out the AV

    Thanks very much. I shall try later on to switch off AVG I am not sure how to switch off. I shall let you know later. At the momemt I am using library computer not my own. Thanks all of you. I tried switch off AVG still cannot get any message. So now I cannot get email at all. Now I am getting this message " The server responded with an error.
