The worry returns....

It will be 6 weeks on Saturday that we had our offer accepted on our purchase, I've remained calm to this point despite a relatively stressful initial mortgage application
Since then we have had our mortgage fully approved with natwest and received the paperwork approximately 2 weeks ago - we are not in a hurry so have decided to let the conveyanving process run its natural course, an update last week was that we were still waiting on some searches to be returned ands queries from the seller, our SOL has confirmed that she has our full mortgage offer and nothing else needed from us at this stage,
I have had an email from the estate agent today asking for an update on our mortgage appication as they were concerned that it was 3 weeks from survey and they had not got an update
I have of course updated them but am now worried that there may already be a communication breakdown between Sols? Is it usual for the EA to ask me for updates that the SOL should be giving or not?!

Your position sounds similar to mine - 3 weeks after suvey, mortgage offer received and searches underway. My EA rang me for an update this week and I passed on what I knew in respect of my solicitors raising queries with the seller and waiting a reply, so from my pont of view, doesn't seem anythng to panic about!0

Thankyou!! I was a bit put out by the time of the email I think as it read as though this was the fourth or fifth time of asking us for the info - very much 'it's been over 3 weeks since valuation what's the update' type of thing! hello! We are totally ready

EA knows nothing about the process from your side so dont worry.0

The EA is trying to drive the sale forward.
A good EA will keep raising the profile with the solicitors, but don't always get their calls returned, so will come to you for information as they want to know where things are.
Take it as a good sign that they aren't waiting for the solicitors to just get on with it.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

If you want to keep your seller happy it's usually a good idea to let their EA know how the purchase is progressing. The EA is usually proactive in trying to keep things moving and has direct contact with both the buyer and seller, whereas solicitors will talk to each other and their clients only and aren't going to spend too much time ensuring the other side is happy.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

This is normal. I used to send an email to estate agent and solicitor weekly with updates and phone calls stopped. They just want you to exchange contracts.0
