5 Weeks and No Progress!

I'm hoping for some advice. Just shy of five weeks ago I had an offer accepted on a flat with no chain and the vendors accepted within a couple of hours. When placing my offer, I made it clear that I'm keen to move as fast as possible as the tenancy on the place I rent is up in a calendar month from today. This allowed approximately nine weeks to complete, which should be possible on an empty property, where there's no chain.

The same day the offer was accepted, I instructed a solicitor and within 2 days had the valuation carried out and formal mortgage offer in my hand 2 days after this.

Five weeks later my solicitor says she still hasn't received any draft contracts or paperwork from the vendors and can't begin the searches (spoke to her today). However the estate agent said last week that my solicitor has told them they have received the draft contracts, which isn't inspiring much confidence.

The vendors did change their solicitor three weeks ago, but this still doesn't seem quite right. What advice is anyone able to give to hurry things along? Can I approach the vendors solicitor, to enquire if they have sent any paperwork and where to?

    Contact the seller's estate agent, if there is one, and say that if there is noprogress by (date) you will either
    * withdraw your offer or
    * let your offer stand but start looking at other properties anyway
