Linked address on credit file not all me

I have just checked Experian and i can see i have a lot of linked addresses and date back to 2007. I can see 84 linked addresses but i have lived in about 5 since then due to work.

Me and my dad have the same 1st and last name except we spell our 1st names differently (e.g. Graeme Vs Graham). I have not lived with him since 2001 but our names must have crossed when i was linked to my sisters house for a few months. His name is on my linked addresses 30+ times.

I believe he has a poor credit history, whilst i have no debt and apparently a good credit history with no missed payments on my record.

Would having my dad linked with me this way possibly affect me as i am looking to get a mortgage shortly and am currently looking for a financial advisor.

Do the linked addresses only appear on experian? or also on equifax and callcredit? (do check all 3 if you haven't already).

In the first instance I would contact experian and dispute the addresses and explain the situation with father's name. They may be able to remove quite easily. If not you may have to write to the creditors that originally reported the links.

Does he appear in the alias/other names section of the report.

Thanks ill check the other CRA's too, he has no other links to me on Experian, both the Alias and Association sections are blank.

If your father's information is currently being displayed on your credit report via linked address or any other section of your report as Tixy has mentioned please get in contact with us, we will be able to resolve the issue for you as quickly as possible.
