New to selling

So I'm new to selling on ebay, being a buyer for years who leaves feedback as soon as I receive what I've purchased, I was shocked to realise that the 10 items I recently sold and sent first class recorded (I can see they've gotten the items), only 3 of the buyers have left feedback.

How do sellers encourage buyers to leave feedback?

They don't. A transaction without feedback is deemed to be great by eBay standards, don't encourage a buyer to alter that.

The problem is despite having 100% buying feedback, ebay/paypal withhold money for up to 2 weeks because I have no selling history...

Your funds will immediately be released when one of the following occurs:
    • The buyer leaves you positive feedback
    • 3 days pass after proof the item was delivered**
    • 21 days pass without a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal filed on the transaction

On the ebay boards there was a similar thread sometime ago where he had the paypal restriction and so he was asking customers for it but the buyers gave him low stars for comunacation so its not worth it.

Just wait for it, asking for feedback can cause problems. The restriction will be lifted soon enough

So upload your tracking details and you'll only have to wait 3 days.

Nah still have to wait 7 days and it's costing me more since I offer free postage.

How does it cost you more?

    As for the 7 days????
Typically you will get access to your funds within 21 days, and possibly even sooner:

If print shipping labels through eBay or PayPal or use another carrier who provides tracking information and manually enter shipment tracking information on eBay funds will be available three days after the latest estimated delivery date.
If you mark the item as dispatched but don’t upload tracking information, funds should be available seven days after your latest estimated delivery date.
If you don’t provide tracking information or mark the item as dispatched, funds will be available in 21 days.

Because I have to send it recorded to get my funds early, or wait 21 days...

Why do you have to wait 7 days when it states 3?
