Ford paint defect

Hi, I have a low mileage Ford vehicle (4800 miles). The car has been a bit of a lemon with numerous faults, in hindsight I wish I'd never purchased it! Anyway, the latest issue is a paint defect on the rear boot. Basically I noticed white undercoat around the rear number plate trim. Upon closer inspection it is apparent the trim has rubbed the paint down to near bare metal. I had a similar issue with the front sill scuff plates, in that instance the area had started to corrode. Ford fixed that issue without any quibble. With this latest issue they are saying the fault is what they call a "touch concern" & this is only covered for 12 months! The car was over 12 months old when they fixed the last "touch concern" but they now say that was a gesture of goodwill! Can they really make a sub standard product that costs £28k when new & say it's acceptable for the trim to rub the paint off at such a low mileage? I'd like to make a claim via Money Claim online, the dealer has quoted £478 to fix the issue which seems a lot to put right a fault that is the manufacturers fault but I'm happy to make a claim if anyone thinks it's worthwhile? Thanks for any help & advice.
