Part of me wishes I'd gone to uni. I've certainly done alright in life regardless but I do often wonder what could have been. I was certainly intelligent enough, just lacked the motivation.
I work in IT at the moment but I think if I could go back I'd become an architect. I'm a big fan of buildings and would love to have a part to play in constructing them.0 -
I'd defo go for Recruitment (..though only deal in an industry I'm familiar with and enjoyed working in so I'd want the easy life hee hee!) it does fascinate me, just loving that programme on a Wednesday night which is probably guiding my answer!.0

I wonder if your older students had serious intentions of getting a job out of their training or whether they did it just for something to do ( like a hobby?). Do people stand just as good a chance of employment in their later years? Please I am not trying to offend any one here x
You can't train to be a vet nurse without being in a vet practice so they already had jobs.
We have had people attempt to train to have a "hobby" but it's too intensive training and the commitment required is so much those people have taken different routes and not been vet nurses.
The competition for places is high - degree courses have at least 10 applicants per place. You need to be good to get on a course so people don't just pick vet nursing up as a hobby. It's a massively skilled job that requires constant work to update your skills to remain registered.
The demand for registered vet nurses is so high in the there is no room for ageism.NOT a NEWBIE!

I wish I'd done A-Levels after my GCSEs and then went to uni instead of trying to find a job; rather than finding a steady job and working my way up like I hoped this resulted in a few years were I did a dodgy beauty therapy course and having several short term contract jobs. As well as it probably being better prospects wise I think I probably would've found the traditional university experience (e.g. living away from home, meeting people from different parts of the country/world, joining societies etc) more exciting than what I ended up doing instead. I do have a degree now but as I did it at a local college when I was in my late 20s my experience of being a student was a bit different!0

Music was my main interest for a career, but when I had to choose a path at 18, I went with IT because music is so hard to make a living out of. I still do music as a hobby just the same, so maybe that makes it more enjoyable?
The thing I would most like to do would be to drive cars or review cars - I just love cars, but I think it is hard to move into and hard to make good money. To err is human, but it is against company policy.0 -
I wish I'd done medicine. I'm wondering if I should be brave and apply but I'm 35 and fed up of fighting to get on the property ladder.Mortgage overpayments 2018: £4602, 2019: £7870

I'm not unhappy where I am but maybe j would have just gone and done my Btec firet rather than faffing on for a year with as levels.
I'd also make sure I was under someone to ensure that my ears are regularly checked. I lost my hearing and this affected my choices of work.Mortgage free wannabe

I don't know! (which I guess explains why I never got a 'career')
I never did have a clue what I wanted to do with my life, and I still don't.
Wish I did...0 -
Well I never knew what I wanted to do and despite being good at English at school and loving the subject, I never really got any guidance from parents or school.
Ended up doing a hotel management course because my mate was doing it and ended up in catering working in restaurants and cafes etc.
The kids came along and a combination of bar jobs and waitressing fitted in well and despite many thoughts of doing something different over the years, its just never happened.
Ive ended up in supervisory roles but the money is still not brilliant and its hard work!
Wish I had done something with my love of English or rehabilitation kind of nursing would have appealed.
Too late now though.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600
