Land Registry Amendment to title register turnaround time?

Long story but our buyers need "clean deeds" for their lender so the solicitors have requested an amendment to our deeds.

- Title register refers to a right of passage from a conveyance in 1948
- The street from which access was granted no longer exists
- Initial response was that they were "unlikely to have the paperwork relating to the conveyance" (I guess no info on transfer or plan).
- This was then raised two weeks ago (19 May) with the land registry by our solicitors to resolve when we signed contracts
- It was indicated this should only take a couple of days to resolve
- I have chased them every day for a week and been told they were actively chasing as I knew that our exchange was planned for Wednesday 27th May
- Last Thursday 28th May they sent an email to expedite strongly stating the urgency
- Solicitor now tells us we can't chase, the land registry will deal with it when they get to it and it can't be expedited any further. it hasn't been chased since 28th when (apparently the land registry were still looking through their old paperwork).

Anyone able to give me an idea how much longer this might take?

We're trying to plan our move but looks like we won't be meeting our intended completion date of 11th June at the moment unless a miracle happens.

Is there any other way to chase this through or another option to appease the lender other than getting the paperwork rectified?

This is getting pretty stressful now just as we thought we would be moving imminently!

djedga - looks like the matter has now been resolved. The local office were investigating the matter but unfortunately the records were held in paper format and had to be retrieved before they could be considered in full by a senior officer.

The entry has been removed from the register now so hopefully your sale can proceed.
I have emailed you and your solicitor has also been advised by phone
