Stolen catalogue order

Hi everyone, signed up here looking for advice if any one can help please?

Placed an order for items costing £150, delivery was due for Sat but did not turn up, checked on website and delivery date changed to Monday. Although at work, I got a text saying my items were delivered and signed for at 13.27. I called my partner at first opportunity, around 6pm, to ask how to good looked but he said he had not received anything despite being home all day. He then checked with our neighbour who is listed as a back up drop off address but they had not got the delivery either. My account does state it was delivered to my home address regardless.

I only was able to call the catalogue after 7pm when I finished work - husband called earlier but they refused to speak with him as he was not the account holder. Advisor told me that she had an "illegible" signature on the system for the items, and that I would be requested to send in a copy of my signature for comparison. Although I was not home at the time (?) She said she would mark the item as missing, I also requested a hold on the account as someone is now obviously sitting with my account and some personal details so she has placed a note on account and toldme to call back when all relevant departments will be open.

Is there anything else I should be doing or requesting when I call them back? Should I also notify the police as this is both theft and fraud.

My mother who lives local to us also received a delivery from the same catalogue company around the same time as the noted time on the system for my delivery, so the delivery driver was in the area. Her description of the delivery man fits the same one as the delivery driver who has dropped off more than 4 packages to my house in the last 2 months, so he should know where my house is, it if is the same man.

Sorry for long post, just quite upset and frustrated that this has happened and worried the catalogue are going to charge me for items I do not have and will not get.

I guess this is one of the shop direct group of companies

The operator was correct referring you to the fraud team, All they'll do is issue a new account number and put a underwriting referral (Every order will be referred to make sure its going to a known address)

Whatever you do DON'T STOP payments!

Follow their track and trace procedure

We had this once. We reported the loss to the Police (Strathclyde, as it then was), they weren't interested and didn't regard it as theft (from us) because although the parcel had been stolen from our doorstep we hadn't signed for it to accept delivery. They said it was a theft from the courier, or from the catalogue itself, but not from us.

We quoted that to the catalogue company, gave them the officer's details & phone number at the police office and they simply sent out another parcel, I think it was a cheap LG vacuum cleaner.

    Keep up your payments !
