how to run an TV aerial cable

Our TV aerial cable comes out the attic through the soffit and down the outside wall, then though the bottom of the timber window surround into the living room and it was running under the carpet to a corner where the TV was, when we moved in. We have been decorating the living room and we are getting a new carpet, and I'm not sure when to do with the cable now. We still need it to get Freeview, but running it under a fitted carpet doesn't seem right. Any suggestions on how to do this properly?

Well not through the window frame for starters.
Is the TV on an internal or external wall?0 -

Internal wall. The internal walls are plasterboard, the external ones are brick and plaster. We are not completely sure where we will have the TV actually but probably in the corner of two plasterboard walls.0
