Southern Trains delay repay for 30th April 2015

Hi All
I am seeking advice on how much compensation I should have received from Southern Trains for the 30th April when the Southern Trains network when
I travel from east Grinstead to London Victoria using a yearly season ticket. My train was the one that broke down and we had to wait over four hours without water (contrary to the media said) before being evacuated and walked to Clapham Junction where we were left.
I sent my delay repay form and I received the grand sum in £4.50 in rail vouchers - is that right, is that all you get when you spend four hours on a train that breaks down and you end up being evacuated...
I would like some advice what action I should take if any and if any other customers that used that service, 7.03 leaving East Grinstead, have received better compensation than £4.50.
Look forward to your comments.

With a season ticket you get a refund based on the notional fare paid for your journey - which is one five hundred and forty sixth of the cost of an annual season ticket. For a delay in excess of 120 minutes it would be 100% of that sum. £4.50 is about right - it's been rounded down a few pence. That's a bit mean really - they should round up if they are not being exact

Other passengers may have received more, yes - based on what they paid for their ticket. Those with a normal ticket should have received the cost of that ticket

It isn't really 'compensation' even though Southern use that term themselves

Annual tickets – compensation is calculated on the basis of one return journey being made every Monday to Friday and one return journey being made at the weekend one week in four. This gives 520 journeys on Mondays to Fridays and 26 journeys at weekends. Therefore we divide the fare paid by 546 for the refund value per journey.

4 hour delay should be 100% refund.

So does your season ticket cost £2457?

It's always worth contacting customer services with your complaint. 4.50 for that length of delay, even if technically correct, seems a little unfair. Ask for some additional compensation, give a reason why, they can only say no! How is Southern 's twitter page? Other operators use it quite extensively for quick responses.
