The day before I got paid (29th May) I was driving home and my tire exploded. I was stranded so I had to call out a truck who brought me a new tire and inspected my car.
I Knew I would have a little extra when I got paid so I paid them the next day which was my payday. I was due my service and thought I would just leave my service till next month however the guy that sorted my tire said I need to get my suspension checked out and get my service done as a priority. I phone payplan to tell them and said I did get a bit extra but need a payment break as I have to get my car checked out and there is a possible suspension issue but I don't know what the cost will be. The woman I spoke to said yes that is fine my case officer will speak to my IP on Wednesday (this week) and my service is due Tuesday.
I am a bit worried because I had a friend who used to be a mechanic have a quick look and he said he cannot see any suspension problem (he didn't have it on a ramp though) although I need a new bush or top mount so I am a bit worried that if my service just turns out to be a normal service when I send them proof of it and proof of the tire repair they will say I have broken my IVA agreement.
I pay £247.55 each month to my IVA and am on course for paying back more than the original 37% dividend originally set out.
I did earn more than my 10% limit this time but by the time I paid for the truck and new tire £185 that only left me with £42 over my basic salary and just enough for my service.
Does anyone foresee any problems?

really to add a bit more if my service is normal and I didn't really need to take the payment break because I have more money than I should would this cause an issue.0

Hello Greenbrucelee, over my four years of an IVA I have had two car problems and each time I spoke to my IP (Payplan) and advised them I did not have funds to fix the problem due to a very tight budget. They agreed that I could miss the payment and make the difference up each month before then next review. I was asked to send in the paperwork for the work carried out but was never chased for it.
If you take a payment break you can only use it once and upto a maximum of 3 or 6 months.
Best of luckNever make assumptions always ask questions>>>>>;)0
