Global Shipping addresses..

Sold an item today and its going to the GSP centre in Derby.
I use the app rather than the laptop for ebay and paypal and the buyers "address" on the ebay app is showing as:
Joe Bloggs
REF: APXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
GSP Shipping Centre
1, Langham Park
Berristow Lane
South Normanton
Derbyshire DE55 2GF
I never normally bother reading what address it has on the ebay app for the buyer as I always send to the paypal address (as we're told to) but on the paypal app for this sale it has the delivery details as:
Joe Bloggs
1, Langham Park
Berristow Lane
South Normanton
Derbyshire DE55 2GF
Assunming there are large volumes of items that are sent to these shipping centres, how would it work if I did send it to Joe Bloggs at 1 Langham Park rather then Joe Bloggs followed by the ref number?

If you send it without the reference number PB may decide it is undeliverable and then:
- Undeliverable Items. eBay and Pitney Bowes shall have no liability and shall have, in their discretion and in any manner that they prefer, the right to dispose of or liquidate GSP Items that eBay or Pitney Bowes conclude are undeliverable, for whatever reason.
If eBay or Pitney Bowes concludes that a GSP Item is undeliverable and elects to dispose of it or sell it, title to the GSP Item shall transfer automatically from you to a third party that eBay and Pitney Bowes may designate and you will keep your Buyer’s payment.
Alternatively, eBay or Pitney Bowes may elect to return to you at any U.K. address that you have on file with eBay any GSP Item that eBay or Pitney Bowes concludes is undeliverable and require reversal of the PayPal payment that your Buyer made to you. If an item is returned to you, you may be responsible for a return postage fee.
You acknowledge that eBay’s or Pitney Bowes’ election to dispose of or sell the GSP Item and to allow you to retain your Buyer’s payment for the GSP Item is sufficient consideration for the transfer of title to any third party that eBay and Pitney Bowes may designate.

If you ware worried about Paypal protection there is no issue with adding the reference. If you are worried about Pitney Bowes, there is a HUGE issue with you leaving it off.
Paypal are interested in the address. PB want the reference number. The address on both is the same.0 -
The address is the same, its the address on the paypal payment screen that is missing the ref number.
My point is - we are told to ship to the the address on paypal it was only when I logged in to my paypal account that I noticed the ref number was missing.0 -

See my post above, the address is the same. A reference is not an address but is needed for GSP.
That's my point.0 -
Yes. I know it is.
But what if I left off the ref number, as the address on paypal didnt have it and just stuck it in a post box?0 -

Just put the reference number on,without this PB wont know who the item is for.
They wont go back to ebay and say "harveybobbles has sent us a parcel and forgot to put the number on can you tell us who it's for?"
they may return it at your cost if your address is on there or dispose of it .0 -
I don't see how there can be any confusion here:

When one of your items sells, you simply post it to the UK Shipping Centre using your usual postage service. The address is automatically provided as the ‘Post-to’ address for the order. The address includes a unique identifier code. This is so the UK Shipping Centre can identify your item - always include this code on your address label.
and:
If you create your own postage labels, include the unique identifier. You can find the code on the Order details page along with the buyer's name and the address of the UK Shipping Centre.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I sold quite a few items via GSP recently and noticed that the 'new' style PayPal screen did not show the ref. no. - it was only by switching to the 'classic' site that the ref. no. was shown.0
