can anyone tell me what happens in a dla review?
I have just been awarded mobility at the higher rate after 2 appeals and going to a tribunal. It was backdated to 8months ago and I got it for 2 years, and then it will be reviewed. Will I have to fill all the forms in again and go through it all again

Hi catbaker, yep, I think you will have to apply again............. Congratulations on your success though, well done! I am waiting for a tribunal date as I am appealing DLA. How long did you have to wait to hear when your tribunal was from when you asked to go to appeal? How was it? What kind of questions were you asked? TBH I am terrified and have several times thought about not going ahead, but I am disabled and unable to get about, that HRM component would be a Godsend to me.
But well done anyway. And backdated 8 months! woohoo!!:beer:0 -
hiya Denbo
thanks for replying not nice to hear though.
I waited about 2 months after the appeal to get the tribunal date.
Dont worry (I did though) its not as bad as you think, there are 3 people in there on the other side of a large table, you sit opposite them and they ask you questions about your problems and how it affects you.
Just be honest, if you know you deserve to win it gives you strength to answer their questions. I had a good idea it was going my way before I came out of the room for them to make their decision. They call you back in after 10 mins and give you their decision there and then. You can claim travelling expenses from the clerk too. Hope it goes well for you Dont forget you can get a Blue Badge if your successful with the HRM. Ive been waiting for a double knee replacement and couldnt get one earlier0 -
