Anyone else had 'courtesy calls' from TalkTalk?
I've had two calls today from 'TalkTalk customer services' asking if I'm satisfied with their services.
I just told the first caller that everything was fine, which it was. About half an hour later, I discovered that I couldn't receive emails, on any of three computers, so it's not settings on iPad.
Their website says that customers are having problems and, speaking to an adviser, I was told that there'd been a system upgrade and all should be ok by this evening.
Lo and behold, another call from TT customer services about half an hour ago. The guy had no idea that there was a problem with email.
Am I being silly to be suspicious of these calls?
I'm hoping the TalkTalk representative can answer .

Thanks, Freddie, but, as I said I know about the technical problems.
I'm concerned whether the customer service calls, to me, were genuine.
Btw: emails getting through now.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I have found that they ring you towards the end of the contract and also at other times to sell TV and mobile services.
The question about how you feel about Talktalk is usually followed by the soft sell where you get the opportunity to haggle about the price. (Its useful to know what the alternatives are - for ammo)
I usually renew my contract this way and am happy with the deal.0 -
The strange thing is that I've only just renewed my contract, after ringing them to haggle.
I've been with them for nearly ten years and not had this before.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Be vigilant if you are a talktalk customer or former talktalk customer:

how gullible can they be!
"he asked me to log into my bank account , whilst he was on the phone"
the brain boggles!0 -
I was very suspicious, which is why I said all is fine to the first caller,,then the second had no idea that email was down, making me even more suspicious.
When I got home yesterday lunchtime OH said there'd been yet another call.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

The guys who call you are most likely call centre drones or calling from a 3rd party company on behalf of TT
So the fact that they don't know shouldn't be surprising/alarming.
However it is wise to be vigilant of any cold calls, and obviously don't go sending them your life savings via western union
