how to restore a saggy sofa

Options
My sofa is looking a bit sad - indentation in the supports under the seat cusions from tall bloke sitting down heavily and seat cushions hard to plump up again. It seems a shame to give up on it as it's otherwise pretty good.

I saw some folding boards to go under cushions and various replacement sofa cushions at http://www.safefoam.co.uk/ for reasonable prices - but before buying I thought I'd check with the wise folk here to see what has worked for others. (I couldn't get the 'shopping basket' on the site to work but have sent for a catalogue)

Any good ideas gratefully received. Ta.

(The brochure request email just bounced - now looking even harder for alternatives)

This is a common problem with some sofas.

When I get some spare time, I intend to invent a sofa that you can sit on for a while, then after a month or two, you can turn it over and sit on the other side to stop the sofa going flat !!

Its a bit like turning the mattress over now and then so it doesnt get a crater in it.

I think it could work !!

'Double sided sofas'.........DSS Sofas I'll call it :silenced: I've said too much. :shhh: Let me patent the idea first.

I once bought some "seat savers" from kleaneze or one of those magazines poster through the door.

They helped a bit but really all they are are planks of plyboard sewn into fabric.

A sheet of hardboard placed under the cushion does the same trick!

Forget these plastic flaps.....take your sofa to a professional who will just replace or re-tighten the strapping where the cushions seat. Won't cost you a mint but will make a big difference.

Thanks for the suggestions, people. My options seem to be: home-made plywood-slats (can't be too hard ot rig up); find a professional (I'll have a look in my area) - while I wait for Double Sided Sofas to get off the ground.
