Hi
As {as far as I understand it} October Half term is at the end of October, Rhodes should still be warm but a lot of the places will either be winding down or closing. There are some areas {Rhodes town} that should still be open but overall it will be quiet.0 -
We did Crete for a few years in October half term - can be hit and miss. When it's nice, it's very nice, but the last twice we did it, it was a bit like Exmouth in May - chilly and a bit breezy. Places were open on the whole, but winding down. Great accommodation available if you're happy to take a punt and just turn up you can get good deals. In the end, we've headed out to the Canaries - similar sorts of prices for flights, plenty of choice and the weather's a bit more reliable (though still not guaranteed!). Personally, I'd ask on the tripadvisor forums. Plenty of locals on there for most places, with good advice happy to offer their insights and also plenty of info around on t'interweb re average temps for time of year.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

My friend went to Crete last October for a week and it rained most days. Think its hit and miss. It could be warm or could rain.0

The only time I went to Crete was in mid to late October. It rained. A lot.0

We've been to Rhodes in Oct half-term before and it was great for 4 days, then abruptly changed to cool, wet and windy for the rest of the week. A friend went the following year and had an entire week of rain with just a few sunny spells. The canaries are much more reliable for Oct half-term.0
