Advise on changing a name on a holiday booking

My girlfriend and her mum were planning on going on holiday next week to Spain and have booked a holiday with onthebeach.com. Unfortunately her mum fell over last week and broke her ankle and isn't able to fly because her leg is in plaster so she has asked me if I would like to go. While I would like to go, changing the name will incur £170 admin charge. Given my girlfriend and her mum only paid £350 for the whole holiday, this price seems very high and I would like to know if there is any way around this fee.
It is a 5 day, half-board holiday, travelling out on Monday next week and returning on Friday and includes the transfer from the airport. The flight is with Ryanair.
I appreciate that Ryanair will charge a fee to change the name but looking on the Ryanair site, i can buy a return ticket on the same flight as my girlfriend for £110, so £170 for a name change seems unreasonable to me. My worry with doing this though is that I wouldn't be able to get on the bus from the airport to the hotel and the hotel wouldn't accept me as the name is different to the booking.
My question is, is there anyway around this fee and if not, would i likely be accepted on the transfer and in the hotel?
Thanks in advance.
Jack

Ryanair charge £110 to change a name on a flight, OTB charge an admin fee of £30 so I expect they are charging once for the flight and once for the hotel as these will be separate contractsrugbyjack2005 wrote: »While I would like to go, changing the name will incur £170 admin charge.
Buying a new flight and possibly changing the hotel booking for £30 admin fee is probably best way to go0 -
Have you considered cancelling and claiming on insurance, then rebooking in your names?0
