Domain bought from Netfirm but someone is using it. Help!

I need some help. Last year I bought from Netfirms a domain that I was after. The company that had it had not subscribed again to it so it was available. I did nothing with it as I have a similar one but I just wanted to be able to use it in the future. Yesterday my subscription to netfirms came up, paid for a month and logg in , as I needed to have some email addis set up. I realised to my horror that the company that had the domain before is still using it and when I type it all their info comes up .

Have you logged in and changed the password? What did Netfirms say?

Is it a .com or a .co.uk? If it is still registered with ICANN/Nominet (if it's nominet and you did register you should have a certificate arrive in the post) to the other company then I suggest you ask for a refund and consider a different registrar.

Hi I have the .co.uk from namesco, but when I saw that the .com was available I bought it using netfirm as I wanted as a reserve... my website is co.uk and cards are co.uk
I haven't hear from netfirm yet, but I am puzzled about how can this happen.

Who does it say the owner is with http://www.internic.net/whois.html and when does it say their registration expires?

when I bought it last august it was available, they had not renewed their subscription, so I took it. also, you can't buy something that it is not available. Can You?

The legal Registrant (owner) of that Domain Name is Polaris World Development, S.L.. I'm guessing that's not you?

Probably legally reclaimed by the owner of the resort, Polaris World.

It's been registered since 2001 to the same Legal Registrant as far as I can see so it's never really been available on the open market since that date. Contact Netfirms for clarification / refund.

so I have paid for something that I couldn't have?
