Broken biscuits

As i'm writing, I recall many years ago spending time with family who would regularly write to biscuit companies to claim back packets that are a missing a finger, or broken a little too much for their liking.

TBH as a child I found it all a bit desperate. These where minor issues and their family certainly didn't struggle for money.

However, on opening a multi pack of cereal bars this morning I find every individual packet, every single bar smashed to bits.
After trying two of these, they are virtually inedible. the texture is like sawdust.

But alas no receipt, so I wonder now if I should bother to take these back, or mention to the company.
Presumably there is no proof that I brought them from any one store, or in fact that I didn't damage these myself.

It's in no way a major issue or a real money saving point, just annoying that I have paid for something that I cannot enjoy.

Thoughts? Comments? Recipes for making them in to something more appetising?

at least log it online with them to help them identify problematic batches/when things go wrong even if you're not fussed about compensation. Think most would automatically send you something anyway, likely vouchers etc.

Ah broken biscuits... we used to buy those, weighed out on scales at Woolies, as part of our Xmas treats.

I used to buy boxes of broken biscuits from the local market or quality save/home bargains. Plenty of whole biscuits in them.

Take them back to the store for refund and replacement. Most likely the shelf stacker dropped them.

You have no receipt so Id email the manufacturer, inform them of the taste being inedible and they are broken.

Add the bits to a bowl of muesli/nut clusters.

Stop buying them and make your own flapjacks instead.

But give a man a fishing rod, and he'll sell it and buy alcohol.

I'd take them back on principle even without the receipt. I returned a bag of potatoes which were rotten on the inside to M and S a couple of weeks ago and simply said I couldn't keep all my supermarket receipts. No problem, they were instantly replaced.

Muesli is a great idea! I will have to try it out.

Doesn't account for the sawdust-y taste, though.

I took coffee back to Sains the other day and told them I did not like the taste - it was awful. They refunded me.
