I have just been rejected by Lloyds for a joint account with my partner. She got one fine.
I was a Lloyds customer for 10years in my 20s, had several loans all repaid fine.

In 2011 i cancelled a phone contract and moved banks.
However, the contract (02) wasn't cancelled properly and i forgot to close the Lloyds account until months later.

So Lloyds think I owe them £417 - which of course I don't want to pay - but more importantly experian have it on my account as a CIAS code 8 defaulted on payments.

I need to get this removed for potential remortgage and would really appreciate a steer on best way forward. Because the issues is so old on closed accounts its hard to get O2 or TSB call centres to resolve. Any tips aprecciated. Thanks

So how do you come to have a balance at Lloyds for £417. You need to provide a bit more information. Was it as a result of your O2 contract? Is it charges? Tell us more..

I cancelled my DD and contracts but didnt shut the Lloyds account down. It ran on for 5 months without my awareness.

Could you contact lloyds and dispute the direct debits, assuming the charges are removed the other items such as interest and charges should go and the debt will be cleared.
